Club Trips: WhitefaceSeptember 17th, 2006 | Posted By: Mike
The UWO Ski Club is excited to announce the first of our 3 planned trips for the 2007 ski season, and our first ever trip to Whiteface. Located at Lake Placid, NY, this venue from the 1980 Winter Olympic Games boasts 74 trails, 220 skiable acres, and 10 lifts including an 8-person gondola. However, what’s most impressive is Whiteface’s 3,430 ft. of vertical drop, which dwarfs almost every resort in the east (for example, Mont Tremblant’s v.d. is only 2,165 ft.) and is within range of numerous resorts located in the rockies. Departing on a Thursday, participants will enjoy 3 full days of skiing and 3 nights accommodation at the Ledge Rock hotel before returning late on Sunday. Further trip details, including pricing, will be published within the next few weeks.
You can find out more about Whiteface on their official web site.
