Ski Club Executive Elections

With the 2006/07 ski season coming to a close, it is time for the UWO Ski Club to say goodbye to its graduating members (in particular, President Mike Mitchell), catch up with friends that we haven’t seen since our latest trips (Whiteface, Tremblant), and most importantly, to plan for the 2007/08 ski season.

November Social

The UWO Ski Club will be hosting a casual club social this next Thursday, November 30th. Due to almost everyone being buried with assignments and exam preparations, we’ve decided to go with something a little more relaxing than the usual, and something that offers some time flexibility for those interested in participating… that’s right, the good old dinner and a movie.

Trip Spaces Very Limited

As of Wednesday, November 22nd, there are only 5 spaces remaining for our Whiteface / Lake Placid trip, and only 6 spaces for Mont. Tremblant. If you intend to participate in either trip but have yet to place your deposit, we recommend taking care of it promptly. Payment instructions are available on each individual trip page.

We would also like to advise our members that the Campus Recreation Membership Services Desk has been requesting validation cards in addition to your student card when making payments. Given that a validation card is something that you can easily go through four years of university without ever using, a few of us have been caught by surprise by this odd requirement.

Kick-Off Social @ The Palasad

The Ski Club will be holding an all-ages kick-off social event at Palasad North, next Thursday, October 5th. Beginning at 7pm, members will be treated to pizza and non-alcoholic beverages (those of you who are 19+ can order whatever else you may want at your own cost) before we’ll look to spread out and take advantage of the Palasad’s selection of arcade games, bowling, pool, and other activities.
