About the ClubAre you a Western Student who enjoys Alpine Sports?
If so, we cordially invite you to join the UWO SKI CLUB. We’re a non-competitive social club that welcomes skiers, bladers, and yes even snowboarders, of all ability levels who enjoy having fun on the slopes. Open to all students enrolled at Western, Brescia, King’s or Huron College, the SKI CLUB launches in What Does the Club Do?
Because the ski season in Ontario doesn’t typically begin until late December, the ski club schedules a series of social events during the fall months to begin the ever important social-bonding process and to drum up interest in our winter trips. The exact nature of these socials depend entirely upon the interests and enthusiasms of our membership, but could include attending the Toronto Ski, Snowboard and Travel Show, bowling, Warren Miller movie nights, or just hanging out downtown at T.J. Baxter’s among other possibilities. As winter comes, the socials continue as the club begins its assault upon the slopes of nearby Boler Mountain and elsewhere in Eastern Canada during our club trips. These trips are the “main events” for the club, and in 2006, we made two trips to Blue Mountain (Collingwood, On) and a return trip to the Quebec City threesome of Mont-Sainte-Anne, Le Massif and Stoneham during reading week. Our trip plans for 2007 will be announced at a later date. Club Benefits?
Thanks to our sponsors, club members enjoy significant discounts on ski equipment, clothing, accessories and service at local retailers, discounts on equipment rentals and lift tickets at places such as Boler Mountain. Our exact perks for 2006/2007 will be announced at a later date. More Information: |
